Getting started
Is Teleprompter free, and do I need to sign up?
Teleprompter is free to use. There is no sign-up, no credit card and no subscription, and recordings carry no watermark. You can open the app and start reading immediately. An optional free account exists only to sync scripts between your devices.
Is there a limit on how long my script can be?
No. There is no script length limit and no cap on how many scripts you can save.
Can I use it in a browser?
Yes — the web prompter runs at teleprompter.postcrows.com. It is the easiest way to write or paste a long script with a real keyboard; turn on sync and it appears on your phone.
Reading and recording
How do I read a script while recording video?
Write or paste your script into the library, then start recording. The script scrolls over the camera preview, so your eyes stay on the lens instead of dropping to your notes. When you finish, review the take and save it to your gallery.
How do I change the scrolling speed?
Tap the screen while the script is scrolling to pause and bring back the controls, then use the speed slider. You can adjust speed mid-take without stopping the recording. Text size, line spacing and text width are adjustable in the same place.
Can I use it as a prompter without recording?
Yes. Prompter-only mode scrolls your script with no camera involved, so you can use it as a plain autocue next to a separate camera, on a tripod, or during a live presentation or video call.
Does the screen turn off while I am reading?
No. The screen is kept awake for as long as the prompter is open, so a long script will not be interrupted by the display sleeping.
Mirror mode and teleprompter rigs
Does it work with a beam-splitter teleprompter rig?
Yes. Turn on Mirror to flip the text horizontally for reflective teleprompter glass, and Flip to invert it vertically if your rig mounts the phone upside down.
Accounts and syncing
Do my scripts sync between my phone and my computer?
Only if you turn on sync. Sign in with the same email, Google or Apple account on each device and scripts written in one place appear in the other. Without an account everything stays on the device, and the app works fully offline.
I did not get my sign-in email
Check your spam folder first. The link is single-use and expires, so if you requested several, only the newest one works. Still stuck? Email us and we will sort it out.
Deleting your account
How do I delete my account and my synced scripts?
Open the app, tap the cloud icon in the top right, and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your account and every script synced to it. If you have already uninstalled the app, email hello@postcrows.com from the address you signed up with.
Full instructions are on the account deletion page. Scripts saved only on your device are not stored on our servers, so deleting your account leaves them untouched.
