Privacy Policy

Teleprompter mobile app and web prompter · Effective 15 August 2026 · Last updated 15 August 2026

The short version. Teleprompter works fully offline and without an account. Your videos are recorded and saved on your own device — we never upload, receive, or see them. If you choose to sign in, only your script titles and text are synced so you can use them on another device. There are no ads, no analytics, no trackers, and we never sell your data.

This Privacy Policy explains how AlgoPort Inc. ("AlgoPort", "we", "us") handles information in the Teleprompter mobile application for Android and iOS, and the web prompter at postcrows.com/teleprompter (together, the "App").

By using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.

1. Who we are

AlgoPort Inc. is the data controller for the information described here.

As a Canadian company we handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), alongside the other laws described below where they apply to you.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us

DataWhenWhyWhere it goes
Email address Only if you choose to sign in for script sync To identify your account and, for email sign-in, to send a one-time link Our database (Supabase)
Sign-in provider details Only if you sign in with Google or Apple To verify who you are without us ever handling a password We receive an email address and, where the provider supplies one, a display name. Nothing else — no contacts, no profile, no access to your Google or Apple account.
Script titles and script text Only while signed in To sync your scripts across your devices Our database (Supabase)
Account identifier Created when you first sign in To link your scripts to your account Our database (Supabase)

Signing in is entirely optional. Signed out, the App stores everything only on your device and sends us nothing.

You may sign in three ways: an emailed one-time link, Google, or Apple. We never see or store a password in any case. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose "Hide My Email", we only ever receive Apple's private relay address, never your real one.

2.2 Device permissions we request

PermissionWhy we askLeaves your device?
Camera To show the live preview behind your script and record video when you choose "Record video" mode No. Never transmitted to us or anyone else.
Microphone To capture audio as part of the video you record No. Never transmitted to us or anyone else.
Photos / media library To save your finished recordings to your device gallery No. We do not read your existing photos or videos.

Camera and microphone data never reaches our servers. Video and audio are processed entirely on your device and written to your own storage. There is no upload feature, no cloud rendering, and no backup of recordings. If you delete a recording from your device, it is gone — we hold no copy.

2.3 Information stored only on your device

You can clear all of this by deleting the App from your device.

2.4 What we do not collect

3. How we use information

We use the limited information we hold only to:

We do not use your scripts to train machine-learning models, and we do not read them except where strictly necessary to investigate a support request you have raised or to comply with the law.

4. Legal bases (EEA and UK users)

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes.

We use a small number of service providers who process data strictly on our instructions:

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of AlgoPort Inc. or others. If our business is transferred, information may pass to the acquirer under this same policy.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Security

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data retention

9. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:

Deletion removes your account record, your email address and all synced script titles and text. It cannot be undone. We complete requests within 30 days. Recordings and scripts held only on your device are not affected — delete the App to remove those.

You can also simply sign out and keep using the App entirely offline.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent. EEA and UK users may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

To exercise any right, contact hello@postcrows.com. We respond within the period required by applicable law and will not charge you for a reasonable request.

11. Children

Teleprompter is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact hello@postcrows.com and we will delete it promptly.

12. Third-party links

The App and this site may link to services we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; please review their policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice in the App or by email where we have one. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
